| 内容記述 | This research is concerned with sign language education. Application software for fingerspelling education is developed by including multimedia and image recognition. In this paper, new learning environment using multimedia and applications which recognize finger spelled word is proposed. Learning environment presented here consists of two parts. The application, describes in a letter how to represent characters in finger, and also showing on the Display how to represent a finger in the motion picture. The other application is to recognize the shape of the user's finger spelled words using USB Camera. Beginners can make sure the correct shape of the finger spelled character. Experiment is also conducted using actual performance of finger spelled words. This is a challenging task since the Japanese kana characters are expressed by the various figure of one hand. Evaluation and automated recognition experiment using proposed learning environment is done to 46 characters of Japanese kana fingerspelling. According to the result of experimental analysis, it is proved that the learning environment proposed in this paper is effective in beginners fingerspelling education. | |||||||||||
